history of Beautiful Savior

Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church began as a mission plant in 2000, formed by a small group of faithful people with a big vision to share Christ’s love in the growing community of Powell.
In those early years, worship took place wherever space could be found — first in a local Subway shop, and later at the well-known “Red Barn,” Beautiful Savior continued to grow in faith and fellowship. What started as a humble gathering has since become a thriving church family dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel, nurturing faith, and serving the community with the love of Jesus.

About our Current Building

The use of glass throughout Beautiful Savior’s building reflects the congregation’s mission-minded spirit. It invites members to look beyond the church walls toward their mission field and shows the community that this is a place open and welcoming to all.Spacious hallways, ample parking, and a generous narthex were intentionally designed to foster genuine hospitality. At the heart of our worship space stands the altar—more than a table for communion, it is the central symbol of Christ’s presence among His people. In worship, God first serves us with His gifts of forgiveness through Word and Sacrament, and in response, we lift our songs and our lives in praise.
Crosses appear in nearly every window, a visible reminder that the message of the cross shapes all we do and proclaims our mission “to celebrate and share the grace of God in our everyday life.” Our multipurpose worship space unites traditional and contemporary elements in harmony, reflecting the diversity of the generations we serve. Finally, the building’s design underscores our deep commitment to Christian education, housing both Sunday School and a vibrant Christian Preschool—key ministries through which God’s grace is shared with children and families, passing the faith to the next generation.
